
ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center Externship
An ASPCA APCC Externship provides third- and fourth-year veterinary students with clinical toxicology experience. During your two-week externship, you'll listen to live toxicology consultation calls and attend veterinarian rounds and lectures. We'll also introduce you to critical analysis of journal articles, and you will complete a small research project with a short presentation at the end of the rotation. This program is completely remote and can be done anywhere in the United States. See 2025 program dates in the FAQ below.

This externship is 100% remote, open to students attending vet school in the United States, and can be completed anywhere with a high speed internet connection.
We accommodate externs for 2 weeks.
For students not in the area of the Midwest Office (Urbana, Illinois), all necessary equipment will be shipped to you directly prior to the start of your externship. Students local to the Midwest Office will be asked to pick up equipment at the Midwest Office prior to the start of your externship. Students will need to use the externship-provided laptop for the duration of the rotation to access necessary programs.
