Research on Access to Veterinary Care
Research supported by the ASPCA and others suggests that having access to veterinary care improves the lives of owned and community pets. Studies show that pets belonging to underserved owners have better outcomes when veterinarians provide clear treatment options (a spectrum of care). Animal welfare professionals can also use research to improve sheltering services like spay and neuter, trap-neuter-return-monitor (TNRM), and responding to cruelty and neglect cases with learnings from research studies.
