Animal Control Officer
Full-time Animal Control Officer position with some nights and weekends. Primary duties include investigating resident complaints and allegations of animal cruelty; removing animal remains from public and private property; patrolling the City for stray and loose companion animals and injured wildlife; presenting educational programs regarding pet ownership, zoonotic disease control, and wildlife conflict resolutions; serving as liaison with City's Animal Welfare Committee; and managing the volunteer program at local adoption partner facility. Must have excellent communication skills, proficiency with computers, and a valid driver's license with good driving record. Six months of animal handling experience and a MD DNR Wildlife Damage Control Operator permit are also required.
