Description

The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) seeks a strong, knowledgeable leader as the organization's Executive Director (ED). As the chief executive, the ED is responsible for working with the Board of Directors to implement the HSSC vision and mission; mobilizing staff, volunteers, donors, and civic partners around clear goals and key performance indicators. The ED serves as the organization’s chief fundraiser, cultivating gifts, securing grants, and coordinating diverse revenue streams needed to sustain a $6M+ budget.

HSSC is looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree plus additional advanced education. Prefer 10+ years of C-Suite/VP work experience in mission-driven organizations. Experience in high-impact fundraising, coordinating six-figure gifts and grants. The ED will need a knowledge of donor data technology and current platforms, P&L oversight, budgeting, and multi-year planning. The ED is a positive relationship manager and has experience working in a bipartisan political environment.
