Full Time Animal Care Attendant
Summary: The Animal Care Attendant (ACA) is a vital member of the MAR team who provides compassionate and attentive care of all the animals under the shelter’s care. The ACA maintains a clean and healthy environment for both the animals and the public. The ACA is also critical in assisting both staff and members of the public by facilitating adoption meets and placements, processing and performing intake assessments and exams for newly arrived animals, and other duties as assigned.
Veterinary Medical Supervisor
As the region’s largest open-admission shelter, ACCT Philly’s medical program depends on skilled individuals to provide the highest level of care for its animals. The Medical Supervisor is one of the primary positions responsible for monitoring, directing, and administering medical services and treatments to the shelter’s many animals. This position works with the Medical Manager and in concert with a team of medical nurses, veterinarians, managers and staff to ensure timely and humane care for thousands of animals every year of various species, stages of health, and dispositions in both the clinic and the shelter setting.

He/she works collaboratively with officers to meet the needs of the animals under care of the ARL. The position is responsible for ensuring the proper policies and procedures are implemented to keep animals moving safely through the shelter. This person would also be responsible for making recommendations to increase revenue and fundraising efforts. Additionally, he/she would exhibit big picture thinking to allow for continued elevation to programming and lifesaving efforts for animals in the shelter and surrounding communities.
The ARL is seeking a licensed veterinarian to join our growing team so we can help more animals! This position will oversee all aspects of veterinary care for our shelter animals as well as help us achieve high volume, high quality spay & neuter for cats as dogs at a low cost for our community. The ARL is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Complaint 501c3 organization. 40-hour work week expected, but exact scheduling can be flexible.
Under the direction of the Medical Manager, assists in the provision of medical care of animals in the shelter and foster. Administers medications, triage incoming animals, performs basic laboratory tests, and performs euthanasia. Works well independently and under pressure but as part of a team to ensure timely, quality medical care for all animals in the shelter.
