An open admissions shelter and founding member of the Philadelphia No Kill Coalition, ACCT works with a wide network of stakeholders to support people and pets in Philadelphia. Our medical team, anchored by a cohort of staff and contract veterinarians, provides critical support to some of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable animals. The staff veterinarian helps to ensure that ACCT’s animals are provided with all aspects of veterinary care including physical exams, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures.

As a leader in the medical department, the Veterinary Intake Coordinator supports nurses assigned to medical intake and triage. They will develop efficient and effective processes to provide comprehensive medical exams and core vaccines at intake, and to provide emergency care to sick or injured stray animals.
