Kauai Humane Society is looking for a self-motivated veterinarian skilled in managing a diverse team of professionals and providing high quality medical care in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must demonstrate an aptitude in shelter medicine and surgical proficiency. The position provides prompt and quality veterinary services to all animals within KHS’s care and at public clinics. The Director of Medical Operations will act as lead shelter veterinarian and provide direct oversight to shelter medical operations and medical staffing, as well as establish relationships within the veterinary community. This position reports to the Executive Director. This position comes with benefits including health insurance and a 401K. JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Shelter Veterinarian, the Veterinary Technician provides exceptional medical and surgical care for the animals of Roice-Hurst Humane Society (“RHHS”) and public-owned animals using practices that meet or exceed industry standards.
JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager, the Veterinary Assistant provides administrative and medical assistance to the Roice-Hurst Humane Society (“RHHS”) vet care team. This role is the first point of contact for any member of the public receiving veterinary care on their pet. Additionally, this position supports the vet care team by providing routine medical and animal care for shelter pets.
The Executive Director is responsible for managing and developing the organization, the oversight, program development, an accountability for best practices over all operational areas of a full service animal shelter, including intake, behavior, animal care, foster care, adoptions and partnerships with other animal welfare organizations to provide the necessary infrastructure to achieve HSRC'S mission. The Executive Director provides high level coordination across all program service areas to provide a quality of care and service that matches the HSRC mission.
This is a part-time shelter veterinarian position at Animal Care & Control. The primary purposes of this position are to examine and triage animals entering the facility, develop and oversee appropriate treatment plans for animals requiring emergency or ongoing medical care, develop and oversee appropriate behavior plans for animals, monitor the health and care of animals housed at the shelter, and act the capacity of expert witness as needed. This position requires medical/behavioral knowledge of animals including domestic, agricultural and exotic. The is a part-time position with the need for on-call availability when special circumstances arise.
