Veterinary Technician Supervisor
The Medical Supervisor, under the direction of the Medical Director, is a mid-level managerial position who assists in the provision of medical care of animals in the shelter, foster, and medical (surgery) center. S/he administers medications, triage incoming animals, performs basic laboratory tests, performs euthanasia, and assists in the disciplinary and development tasks associated with all Medical Technicians within the medical department. Works well independently and under pressure, but as part of a team to ensure timely, quality medical care for all animals in our care. S/he creates and maintains a positive and supportive environment for the public and staff in a way that reflects the values and mission of the Animal Rescue League of Berks County (ARL). S/he ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures specifically with regard to animal care, treatment, and housing and is responsible for ensuring daily behavior and enrichment plans are implemented and completed.
Behavior & Training Coordinator
As the Behavior & Training Coordinator, your primary focus is coordinate compassionate, transparent, and thoughtful evaluations and recommendations for animals under the care of HSC as well as within homes in our community. This position will maintain and elevate the behavioral welfare of dogs and cats at HSC. The Behavior & Training Coordinator will work in alignment with socially conscious sheltering, to help ensure the best results for pets in shelters and in the community.
Our foster team is responsible for the intake, care, and placement of healthy, adoptable animals into our volunteer foster homes, and eventually our adoption program. Daily duties will include administrative support to our Foster Coordinator, such as scheduling, managing the foster Facebook group, recording data and facilitating foster appointments. The Foster Assistant will also be responsible for medical intake of our shelter animals including, physicals, vaccinations, giving medications and entering detailed and accurate notes for each animal. Lastly the Foster Assistant will assist in expanding and maintaining our foster program.
