Part Time Veterinarian
This position will work in coordination with our veterinary team to complete spay/neuter surgeries for shelter and publicly owned pets through our low-cost HQHVSN clinic, as well as contributing to the exceptional veterinary care our shelter pets receive. The APF provides a full-spectrum of diagnostics and treatments for in-shelter pets to ensure they are happy and healthy prior to going home with their adoptive families. The clinic follows veterinary guidelines set out by ASPCA in order to practice the most efficient and high quality medicine for a high volume spay and neuter clinics. HQHVSN training will be made available to the successful candidate. Opportunities for additional general surgical procedures and dental surgery is available for interested candidates. The hours for this position can range anywhere from 8-25 hours per week. APF offers 401K with match, PTO and sick time. Will also pay for License and/or DEA fees while employed. Pay will range from $55-$60 an hour based on previous experience.

VCAS operates two amazing, open admission, life-saving shelters within the county: the main shelter in Camarillo has a 400 animal capacity, which can increase to over 900 during declared natural disasters and the Simi Valley Animal Shelter, which is a smaller facility offering many of the same services as the Camarillo Shelter. In 2014, VCAS became the largest Open Admission Municipal Animal Shelter in California with a Save Rate of over 90% and has maintained this rate since that time.
The Position: Under general direction, performs veterinary services including spay/neuter surgeries; examines and determines preventative medical care and treatments for shelter animals and stray animal emergency cases; and provides oversight for the security and dispensing of drugs and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations. POSITION OVERVIEW The Operations Director (OD) is tasked with reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business procedures, and implementing policies that will improve day-to-day operations. Ensures work environments are adequate and safe. Helps set strategic goals and is responsible for the flow of operational information to the Board of Directors, Executive Director and staff.
Come join our progressive animal shelter medicine team in Greenville, South Carolina! Greenville County Animal Care (“Animal Care”) is looking for a full-time Shelter Veterinarian who is passionate about animal welfare, helping people, and growing our veterinary support resources in our community. This position works under the direction of the Medical Director and Head Shelter Veterinarian and is responsible for medical care and treatment of approximately 7,000 dogs and cats annually. Primary duties include treating animals in foster care, examining newly arrived pets with medical conditions, daily rounds of pets currently in the shelter, assistance with staff training, participation in animal cruelty forensic investigations and/or courtroom testimony, and diagnosis and treatment of animal illnesses and relief from suffering as needed. This position assists the Head Shelter Veterinarian to oversee the care of individual animals while maintaining the overall herd health in an animal shelter setting, and assists in the spay/neuter and pet wellness clinic as needed.
