Part Time Veterinarian
This position will work in coordination with our veterinary team to complete spay/neuter surgeries for shelter and publicly owned pets through our low-cost HQHVSN clinic, as well as contributing to the exceptional veterinary care our shelter pets receive. The APF provides a full-spectrum of diagnostics and treatments for in-shelter pets to ensure they are happy and healthy prior to going home with their adoptive families. The clinic follows veterinary guidelines set out by ASPCA in order to practice the most efficient and high quality medicine for a high volume spay and neuter clinics. HQHVSN training will be made available to the successful candidate. Opportunities for additional general surgical procedures and dental surgery is available for interested candidates. The hours for this position can range anywhere from 8-25 hours per week. APF offers 401K with match, PTO and sick time. Will also pay for License and/or DEA fees while employed. Pay will range from $55-$60 an hour based on previous experience.

In 2014, VCAS became the largest Open Admission Municipal Animal Shelter in California with a Save Rate of over 90% and has maintained this rate since that time.
Chief Shelter Veterinarian
Denver Animal Protection has an opening for a Chief Shelter Veterinarian. This position will serve as the primary veterinarian surgeon and will oversee shelter management and operations. The veterinary clinic at DAP is one of the two shelter clinics (and the only municipal shelter) in Colorado that is American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited. We see a variety of patients, including dogs, cats, small mammals, farm animals, fish, poultry, and reptiles. We are well equipped with dental radiographs, digital radiographs, oxygen cage, ultrasound, and cautery.
The Position: Under general direction, performs veterinary services including spay/neuter surgeries; examines and determines preventative medical care and treatments for shelter animals and stray animal emergency cases; and provides oversight for the security and dispensing of drugs and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations. Performs other related duties as requested.
