Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer oversees the daily operations through leadership over the animal care, medical, client services, and animal protection departments. He/she works collaboratively with officers to meet the needs of the animals under care of the ARL. The position is responsible for ensuring the proper policies and procedures are implemented to keep animals moving safely through the shelter. This person would also be responsible for making recommendations to increase revenue and fundraising efforts. Additionally, he/she would exhibit big picture thinking to allow for continued elevation to programming and lifesaving efforts for animals in the shelter and surrounding communities.
Adoptions & Matchmaking Counselor
The Adoptions & Matchmaking Counselor assists with all aspects of the adoption program for the League focusing on counseling the public on pet ownership to inspire a more humane community. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast paced, busy environment and finds working with people as enjoyable as with animals.
The Volunteer Coordinator leads the volunteer program – including recruitment, onboarding, and training – and serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers and the staff they support. This position plays a crucial role in promoting and representing the League in the community and ensuring that community members who volunteer with the League feel valued and successful in their roles.
Animal Services Representative
The Animal Services Representative is responsible for the front-desk customer service experience at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. This is a full-time position with weekend, holiday and evening shifts. This position provides resources and information regarding owner surrenders, return to owners, wildlife issues, and general questions from the public. This position will also have the opportunity to cross train and work in Shelter Operations (Adoptions, Behavior, Animal Care) working hands on with the animals.
