Combination Spay/Neuter and Shelter Veterinarian Position
SNIP is a small, nonprofit low-cost spay and neuter clinic and Florence Area Humane Society (FAHS) is a nonprofit animal rescue group and both are located in Florence, South Carolina. We are partnering to hire a full-time vet that will spend one half of the work week at SNIP performing spay and neuter surgeries and one half of the work week at FAHS as the shelter veterinarian overseeing care of the animals (a nonsurgical shelter position). The veterinarian will be an employee of SNIP and this shared job is for a standard 40-hour work week with some flexibility on the schedule and no on-call rotation. SNIP is seeking an energetic, positive, compassionate, veterinarian with the ability to perform high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter surgeries for two days per week (The clinic surgery schedule is Monday through Thursday). FAHS is interested in someone who wants to be part of an inventive and supportive team who is passionate about saving lives and caring for the approximately 2,000 animals they care for yearly.

The Veterinary Director, DVM maximizes the use of clinic resources to ensure animal resident health and performs high volume spay and neuter surgeries. The Veterinary Director, DVM provides medical care as well as humane care and treatment to all animals in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The Veterinary Director works together with the behavior and foster team and provides support to staff and foster families on best practice medical interventions. This position may act in the capacity of an expert witness in court cases. This position is based in Arlington, Virginia.
