We are seeking an experienced New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician, with two years of experience in a clinic setting. The successful candidate is responsible for daily care of all surgical patients at our spay and neuter clinic, assisting doctors and veterinary assistants with pre-, peri- and post-operative care of patients, general cleaning and training others to utilize our patient care protocols. Hours: 7:15- 5:45 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No weekends or On call. Pay: $18.50-$20 per hour based on experience We value work life balance! This is a part-time shelter veterinarian position at Animal Care & Control. The primary purposes of this position are to examine and triage animals entering the facility, develop and oversee appropriate treatment plans for animals requiring emergency or ongoing medical care, develop and oversee appropriate behavior plans for animals, monitor the health and care of animals housed at the shelter, and act the capacity of expert witness as needed. This position requires medical/behavioral knowledge of animals including domestic, agricultural and exotic. The is a part-time position with the need for on-call availability when special circumstances arise.
The Surgery Veterinarian is a trained and licensed veterinarian responsible for performing mainly spay/neuter surgeries in a high-quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic and shelter setting. The Surgery Veterinarian may also be responsible for other surgeries that arise in a shelter setting.
