Deputy Director: Indianapolis Animal Care Services
This position is responsible for organizing, managing, staffing, and supervising all aspects of IACS operations. The incumbent in this position will direct the refinement and implementation of a strategic plan for the promotion of animal care, animal control, spay/neuter access, and reduction of animal deaths resulting from both euthanasia and from diseases contracted or propagated at the IACS facility. Incumbent in this position will establish and ensure policies and procedures for the division are adhered to in an effective manner.
This position is responsible for assisting the Deputy Director in managing, staffing, and supervising shelter, medical, and enforcement operations of IACS. This position will cover a breadth of topics and operations within IACS, and will be responsible for assisting the Deputy Director in managing the day-to-day, while also researching and implementing new ideas such as ways to increase spay/neuter access, improve call times for control officers, and increasing efficiency in kennel operations. The incumbents actions are dictated by established policies and procedures, civil laws, criminal laws, and the codes established by the city and county.
