Associate Veterinarian will provide humane medical care, emergency treatment, HQHV spay/neuter and other surgical procedures, and husbandry to a variety of shelter and public animals. Complete daily rounds, develop and implement tailored animal health treatment programs, prescribe medicine and monitor administration of drugs by trained staff, perform anesthesia and surgical procedures, and follow operational medical protocols based on best practice shelter management and herd maintenance. Mentors lower-level veterinary staff and oversees Veterinary Operations and staff in the absence of the Medical Director of the facility. May assist Medical Director with employee hire selection, training oversight, performance assessment, coaching, and discipline and termination actions.
