Seeking an experienced full time veterinary technician to provide medical and surgical care for West Columbia Gorge Humane Society. We are based in the Camas / Vancouver Washington area and provide care for dogs and cats. Working in cooperation with our veterinarian, You will oversee and provide medical care for the animals in our shelter and foster care program. You will provide and oversee technical aspects of surgery on Sundays. You will lead the expansion of our surgical program so we may expand the number of surgery days offered per week and start providing low cost spay/neuter services for the public. Job sharing or part-time work options are possible.

This key role within our Shelter Veterinary Services team, works with our Overnight Veterinary Assistants to manage critical care cases, patient diagnostics, vaccinations, and other responsibilities during an overnight shift. This is a critical position, directly supporting the League’s mission to end animal homelessness and animal suffering. This position is located at the League’s Leslie A. Malone Center at 2080 S. Quebec Street in Denver, Colorado. Purpose of Position: Provide overnight medical care and treatment for animals.

Veterinary technicians collaborate with all other departments within the League to provide animal handling and treatment, along with training and leadership. The candidate selected for this role will be a certified veterinary technician or have relevant proven experience in surgery and emergency medicine. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service experience, proven ability to be a team player and ability to independently problem solve. Purpose of Position: Provide medical care and treatment for shelter animals. Provide medical care and treatment of both shelter and owned animals during all parts of surgery.
