This is a part-time shelter veterinarian position at Animal Care & Control. The primary purposes of this position are to examine and triage animals entering the facility, develop and oversee appropriate treatment plans for animals requiring emergency or ongoing medical care, develop and oversee appropriate behavior plans for animals, monitor the health and care of animals housed at the shelter, and act the capacity of expert witness as needed. This position requires medical/behavioral knowledge of animals including domestic, agricultural and exotic. The is a part-time position with the need for on-call availability when special circumstances arise.
The Executive Director is responsible for managing and developing the organization, the oversight, program development, an accountability for best practices over all operational areas of a full service animal shelter, including intake, behavior, animal care, foster care, adoptions and partnerships with other animal welfare organizations to provide the necessary infrastructure to achieve HSRC'S mission. The Executive Director provides high level coordination across all program service areas to provide a quality of care and service that matches the HSRC mission.
Veterinarian-Shelter and Spay/Neuter Clinic-Surgery
The Jersey Shore Animal Center, a small private non-profit animal shelter, is seeking a shelter veterinarian who wants to make a difference for the pets and people of our community by providing quality care to sheltered and owned pets, working to advance the organization's mission, and being a team player with an incredible staff! Our ideal candidate should provide exceptional veterinary medical care to our shelter animals and our clients, while making a difference for the animals and families within our community. The position will include supervising medical care of the shelter animals and spay/neuter surgeries of both shelter and public owned pets. In addition to low cost surgeries, we also offer low cost wellness appointments and preventive care to public owned animals. Our shelter has great relationship with local veterinary clinics in case of emergencies or to provide diagnostics, such as radiographs. We also have good relationships with veterinary specialists in the area if an animal should need anything beyond what we can provide. This is a full-time position with benefits paid in full after 3 months. Paid vacation time. CE benefits are negotiable.
