We are looking for someone to fill a full-time, 40-hour Saturday - Wednesday position. As an Animal Care Associate, you will be mainly responsible for: Responsible for providing and documenting the daily husbandry needs of the dogs and cats in care of HSC. Including providing food, water, enrichment, bedding, and a safe & cleanly environment to all animals. Observe and report all behavioral & medical concerns according to protocol. Executes all behavioral modification and enrichment plans at the direction of the Shelter Operations Manager and under the supervision of the Assistant Shelter Operations Manager. Administers medication daily and collects samples as directed by the medical team. Assist in maintaining the data integrity of animal records, signage and population boards and ensures updates are prompt and kennel inventory is accurate. Engage and train new volunteers on tasks like kennel cleaning, cat socialization, laundry, etc.

As a Spanish/English Bilingual Community Support Specialist on our Community Initiatives Team, the core of your responsibilities is to assist and empower pet owners in solving pet related concerns by providing resources and information about internal (Humane Society of Charlotte) and external (outside organizations and social service agencies) programs and assistance options. The Bilingual Community Support Specialist is a human service based, public-facing position that operates out of the Pet Help Center to communicate with community members seeking guidance on financial assistance, pet food and supply support, pet surrender, lost/found animal protocols, and other general pet resources. The Bilingual Community Support Specialist will assess client needs to identify the most beneficial resources/assistance for each client's individual situation, ability, and access through understanding and recognizing underlying needs.

About The Solution Spay-Neuter Clinic: The Solution Spay-Neuter Clinic is owned by Humane Solution Spay-Neuter Program, a nonprofit organization. The clinic is housed at the Forsyth County Animal Services in Winston-Salem, NC and is currently open on Sundays and Mondays, but we are open to discussion about days. The Clinic has a committed team of rotating veterinarians that believe in our mission to reduce pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering owned pets, Forsyth County Animal Services shelter pets, and feral/community cats. Humane Solution is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Our passion is reducing unwanted litters, thus creating a healthier community for pets and people. This is a part-time administrative role requiring at least 16 hours per month from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or when the last surgery is complete. Humane Solution employs 2 veterinary assistants and volunteers to complete all other tasks. There is no interaction with pet owners. Summary: The Supervising Veterinarian is the highest-ranking staff member on the medical team with complete oversight of all veterinary and animal care functions in the clinic. The Supervising Veterinarian is required to be at the facility 16 hours per month but is responsible for compliance with relevant regulations when the clinic is open.
