The FIR team travels the country to rescue animals in crisis, provide the care they need and assist with investigation and prosecution.
The Field Investigations and Response (FIR) team takes the ASPCA's commitment to animals to the very doorsteps where help is needed. The team travels from coast to coast responding to requests from law enforcement and animal-welfare professionals.
FIR's primary goal is to remove animals from crisis situations created by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornados, floods and wildfires; or by animal abuse like animal fighting, puppy mills, hoarding or neglect. From there, FIR focuses on giving animals the care they deserve and stopping cruelty at the source.
"I don't recall ever seeing a more efficient and qualified crime scene team anywhere. It definitely made a difference in the outcome of the case."
Agencies and individuals can work alongside FIR, gaining valuable field experience while helping a nationwide rescue effort.
