Description
Purpose of Position: Assist in providing high volume spay/neuter and vaccine services for owned cats & dogs.
Responsibilities
- Plan daily surgery flow to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Calculate and administer anesthesia and monitor animals under anesthesia.
- Assist veterinarians in performing health assessments of animals as well as surgical procedures.
- Perform surgical check-in and discharge procedures with patrons.
- Communicate with patrons clearly and professionally regarding surgery and post-operative care.
- Cross train in urgent care services, including but not limited to assisting veterinarians in non-elective surgery, dentistry and performing diagnostics and treatments for sick pets during client appointments.
- Assist in the supervision of and support of volunteers and veterinary assistants.
- Maintain clinic and program records.
- Monitor and maintain clinic equipment and supplies.
- Administer vaccinations.
- Clean and maintain work areas and vehicles.
- Operate League mobile unit vehicles, as assigned.
- Perform date entry to update animal records.
- Perform euthanasia related tasks including body care.
Compensation: Starting at $22.50 - $23.65 per hour; (starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)
