Community Veterinarian
Description
San Diego Humane Society is hiring a full-time Veterinarian for our Community Veterinary Program!
This is a permanent position that has been named in recognition of a generous donation from Dr. Francine Deutsch and Dr. Carole Leland. Sign-on bonus and negotiable relocation bonus available.
How you’ll impact our mission:
At San Diego Humane Society, we’re united by our mission to Inspire Compassion. One of the greatest challenges facing pet families in San Diego is access to affordable veterinary care. Our Community Veterinary Program (CVP) helps give owned pets the medical care they need, including low-cost preventative and basic sick care, pharmacy services, and basic grooming like nail trims and ear cleanings. Through these essential services, we help keep animals with their families and out of shelters.
Under the direction of the CVP Hospital Administrator, you’ll maintain oversight of medicine and surgery operations, administrative duties, and championing the cause of vital CVP programs such as the Vaccine Clinics (for the public), Community Spay and Neuter (CSN), the Voucher Program, Community Outreach Events, CARE Program, the Community Cat Program (CCP), the stationary clinic and assisting with the creation of new programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to rotate some working days at our Pilar & Chuck Bahde Center for Shelter Medicine — the first of its kind in California.
If you’re passionate about making an impact at one of the largest and most innovative animal welfare organizations in the country, we’d love to talk to you.
