Teaching a Spectrum of Care in Veterinary School
Learn more about how The Ohio State University is using the “Preparing for Excellence in Veterinary General Practice” program, a comprehensive curriculum embracing a spectrum of care model, to train veterinary students on providing a range of diagnostic and treatment options for pets.
The curriculum integrates spectrum of care concepts throughout all phases of the veterinary program, from the first semester until the end of the fourth year. It shifts the focus of clinical training to teaching across the entire continuum of veterinary health care options, ranging from more accessible, basic, and affordable to more technologically advanced and expensive to meet the veterinary care and cost expectations of a variety of clients.
