Low-Cost Veterinary Clinics Can Improve Access to Care and Job Satisfaction in Veterinarians
Researchers set out to determine the impact of a free One Health clinic (a model of care that combines medical care for people and their pets) on:
- The veterinary-client relationship for underserved pet owners
- The experience of veterinary students and volunteers who participated in the clinic
To assess the services provided, researchers asked pet owners, veterinary students, and clinic volunteers to complete a questionnaire about their experience with the One Health clinic.
The results showed pet owners’ trust in the veterinary profession significantly increased ,and more than 97% of students and volunteers reported increased compassion and enhanced job-related skills.
