At the ASPCA, we use science to create a better future for animals. Our research drives legal and policy change, tests new approaches to animal welfare and translates findings into practical solutions that make a real difference nationwide. We share knowledge and build capacity across the field through grantmaking, our Applied Animal Welfare Research Internship, the annual Research Forum and mentorship for external researchers.

Our work focuses on improving outcomes for animals, increasing access to veterinary and behavior care, and preventing cruelty.
