The Role
As a Digital Media & Design Specialist on our Development Team, the core of your responsibilities is to support HSC marketing by utilizing your expertise in graphic design, photography, and content creation.
Your creativity will be key in producing high-quality marketing collateral according to HSC brand standards. The Digital Media & Design Specialist will be someone who can be innovative and utilize their design skills in creating a diverse range of materials such as programmatic collateral, ads, social media graphics, presentations, website creative, brochures, recruiting materials, t-shirts, and logos, invitations, cards, and sponsorship proposals and light boxes. Utilizing our project management software, Asana, you will ensure precision and accuracy in production. Additionally, you will manage relationships and correspondence with external marketing vendors (Boingo, AdConcepts, Bonfire).

Our Digital Media & Design Specialist will be earning between $24 to $27 per hour based on qualifications and experience. This position will be part-time at 20 hours per week. A majority of the work will be done from the employees' home; however, it is expected for the Digital Media & Design Specialist to be in the office at least one day per week to capture content in the building or at an HSC event.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Required: Three to five years progressive work experience with a heavy concentration in the creative services field with a focus on graphic design and print management
- Required: Advanced computer skills with expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office Suite (notably PowerPoint).
- Preferred: Experience working with email marketing campaign software (Constant Contact).
- Preferred: Photography experience; knowledge of DSLR cameras and photo editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop)
- Experience in video editing and content creation is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and helping both people and pets in our community
- Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed, including weekends for some events
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation.
- Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats.
