Description
Purpose of Position: This position provides compassionate veterinary care to pets and their families who wouldn’t otherwise have access to care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient examinations and develop diagnostic and/or treatment plan options using an incremental care approach for patients with urgent/sick care needs.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic studies including diagnostic imaging and bloodwork.
- Perform surgical procedures (optional)
- Perform comprehensive dentistry procedures, including surgical extractions, (optional)
- Provide euthanasia services.
- Safely perform high quality high volume spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats. (optional)
- Effectively and compassionately communicate with owners of pets and the community.
- Manage and maintain accurate medical records using a cloud-based/digital practice management software system.
- Provide support and clinical mentorship to externs, including direct observation, training and assessment. (optional)
- Interact and communicate with general public to promote and discuss access to veterinary care using an incremental care approach.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration, teamwork and learning within veterinary services and throughout the Organization.
Travel
- This position may require travel between the 3 locations within the Greater Charlotte area
Shift Details: 4 day work week - 7am to 5pm

Compensation: $125,000+ depending on experience

Required
- Education: Doctoral degree in veterinary medicine
- Work Experience: Experience practicing veterinary medicine with owned companion animals.
- Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Eligible to obtain a North Carolina Veterinary License.
Desired
- Experience performing comprehensive dentistry, including surgical extractions
- Experience performing high quality, high volume spay/neuter procedures
