Average Time Needed
About a month
Think about your best volunteer—someone you completely trust. That person might be all you need to get your program off the ground. Remember, starting small is smart and sets you up for success!
The initial request for volunteers usually produces a lot of interest (as long as you are looking for them in the right places)—but many fall off once they realize what the program is. That’s ok and completely normal!
Details to Consider
Your coordinator can handle this task, which provides a great opportunity to get creative and consider populations you might have previously overlooked (or even avoided!) Don’t count out a population because they might seem too young or too busy—let them make that decision.
For example, consider engaging:
- College students
- Business owners
- Social or civic organizations
