Shelter Veterinarian
Description
This is truly an exceptional opportunity. ACAR is a municipal shelter in Gainesville, Florida - home to the University of Florida. It's a progressive town with a great animal welfare community, including a local humane society, spay/neuter clinic, access-to-care clinic, Operation Catnip (the best TNR clinic ever), and lots of rescue groups. We've been collaborating effectively since 2002! Did I mention that you get to help build a brand-new shelter? Eeke!!
And best yet, you will get to work with us - the Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida. Our vet students and undergrad volunteers are the best. They'll be organizing adoption extravaganzas, spay/neuter events, and fostering all of the things. And you'll have a community of like-minded colleagues in academia to hang out with and run cases by.
