Description
Daily Tasks & Variety
- High-Quality, High-Volume Spay & Neuter (65%): You will be performing high-quality, high volume spays and neuters to help shelter, rescue, and outdoor community animals. Primarily, you will be working with dogs, cats and rabbits, and occasionally other small animals. Bring your surgical skills, and we’ll provide the purrs of appreciation.
- Medical Care for Shelter Animals (25%): Perform vet checks and offer care to shelter animals, fosters, rescue animals, and community cats, including but not limited to rabies exams and vaccines, CVI’s, UAs, interpreting bloodwork, reviewing x-rays, and discussing treatment plans.
- Non-S/N & Dental Services (10%): Perform dental extractions and other types of surgeries such as enucleations, amputations, cherry eye, and entropion.
The Ideal Candidate
- Skilled in HQHVSN and wellness care.
- Familiar with shelter medicine.
- Ready to dive into surgeries that could include everything from dentistry to amputations.
- Passionate about keeping pets and people together.
- Positive, compassionate, and excited to work with our team of staff and volunteers.

Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin veterinary license and DVM degree.
- Comfortable with PetPoint, our shelter medical database, a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
