ASPCA SAFER (Safety Assessment for Evaluating Rehoming) Aggression Assessment is a predictive, consistent method for evaluating the probability of aggression in individual dogs. The seven-item assessment generally takes no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The assessment uses researched items that elicit responses predictive of future behavior. It is intended to be one tool used to help identify the risk of future aggression and the individual behavioral support needed before adoption for each dog in a shelter.
