The Fix‘Em Clinic – Charleston, WV
Join our Team! The Fix’Em Clinic is seeking Full Time, Part Time and Relief Veterinarians to work in our modern, well equipped veterinary clinic. Charleston Regional Spay Neuter Center (dba The Fix‘Em Clinic), is a high- quality, high-volume, low-cost spay neuter and wellness clinic in Charleston, West Virginia, seeking veterinarians to perform surgical sterilizations and wellness services. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization approved and mentored by the ASPCA. Our mission is preventing the unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of cats and dogs due to overpopulation and preventable diseases.
Responsibilities include: dog and cat spay/neuter surgeries; ensuring safe, effective, and efficient medical procedures; and providing a robust wellness program including on-site blood analysis for testing. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a commitment to reducing companion and feral animal overpopulation, while maintaining the highest standards possible in the field. Training in high-volume surgery will be provided by associate Veterinarians and by ASPCA (Humane Alliance) on high-quality, high-volume spay neuter techniques. A background in small animal medicine and a DVM degree from an accredited school of veterinary medicine is required. New graduate applications are welcome. An emphasis on shelter medicine would be an asset in this position. Must have or obtain West Virginia license to practice veterinary medicine.
Our staff works four 10 hour days per week, normally Monday through Thursday. Once at the end of each month all staff receive a 5 day break Friday through Tuesday. Salary is very competitive, and is based on experience and industry standards in our area. Hours are planned, regular and predictable, and we do not take after-hours calls as they are referred to ER clinics so you have time to devote to family and other favorite pursuits. As a non-profit, those applicants with student loans may be eligible for loan forgiveness for working with a not-for-profit clinic. Excellent benefits including PTO, paid CE's, paid licensing, medical Insurance, paid holidays and more.
