The Yakima Humane Society seeks to hire a passionate veterinarian to join our team and support our mission of providing high-quality medical care to the animals of Yakima County. The Yakima Humane Society Spay & Neuter Clinic provides low-cost spay and neuter services for our local residents. It also serves as the primary spays and neuter resource for the homeless animals in our care. In 2021, we performed over 8,000 surgeries and expect to eclipse 10,000 in 2022. In addition, our veterinary team provides the medical care for all of the animals at our adoption center. We will soon be expanding our building and programs to include urgent care services that offer lifesaving treatment options for animals in need.

One of the biggest benefits to joining our team is the flexible work hours. The current surgery schedule runs Monday through Thursday and half day on Friday, allowing for evenings and weekends off. This is an opportunity to enjoy meaningful work in animal welfare while also maintaining the necessary work-life balance to make time for family, rest, and the pursuit of other passions.

As our clinic grows and the services we provide, there is also a flexible daytime or evenings and weekends schedule for our urgent care clinic. This would also include the possibility of doing telemedicine.

We welcome any Veterinarian who would like to give back to the community and help on Feral Days or with shelter animals on a contract basis.
