Description
The successful candidate will have experience in performing high-volume, high-quality spays/neuters.
Location: Fixin’ to Save Spay and Neuter Clinic 4926 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, VA 23072
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a valid Virginia State Board of Veterinary Medicine license and register with the Drug Enforcement Administration for controlled substances; Comply with applicable standards for Veterinarians as established by the Virginia State Board of Veterinary Medicine.
- Perform cursory exams on animals to clear them for surgery. The client’s regular veterinarian will treat any health concerns not related to sterilization surgery.
- Supervise the LVT and work cooperatively to ensure proper management of the clinic.
- Effectively communicate.
- Enforce and adhere to existing sanitation and disease prevention protocols; actively contribute to their continuous improvement.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures; actively contribute to continuous improvement.
- Ensure all protocols and procedures are adhered to, including OSHA standards.
- Attend training/conferences when required for maintaining an active Virginia veterinary license.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Requirements as per Virginia State Department of Health Board of Veterinary Medicine.
Experience:
- Must have a proven record of accomplishment in all facets of animal care, including excellent high volume high-quality spay and neuters skills.
- Experienced working in high-volume surgery conditions preferred.
Other requirements:
- Need to be passionate about spay/neuter efforts and animal care/welfare.
- Must be willing to perform a variety of daily physical tasks
- Must have a valid Virginia State driver’s license and own car.
Job Types: Part-time
Pay: Commensurate with experience.
Experience: High-volume spay/neuter: 1 year (Preferred)

- Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine
- DEA Certification
