We are looking for an energetic, positive, experienced veterinarian with the ability to perform high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter surgeries four days a week. A part time position would also be considered.
Our mission is to reduce the shelter intake and euthanasia of dogs and cats by making high quality, low cost spay/neuter services available to all residents of our community.
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine DEA license or ability to obtain one Veterinary Liability Insurance HQHV training

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily care of all surgical patients, ensuring all clinic staff members are adhering to proper pre-, peri- and post-operative care of patients. Responsible for participating in training staff regarding all aspects of patient care and efficient/safe clinic practices, maintaining a professional and friendly manner at all times. Examine animals pre-op to determine appropriateness for surgery. Perform 30-35 surgical sterilizations per day. Examine animals post-op to ensure appropriate healing. Supervise handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary assistants/technicians. Assist with supervision of cleaning protocols. Remain current on safe and efficacious medical protocol regarding anesthesia and surgery through continuing education. Supervise post-operative rechecks and medical treatment as necessary to ensure complete surgical recovery. Communicate any issues concerning staff or patients with Director. Provide quality service to clients, volunteers, and staff, recognizing their contributions to the clinic’s success.
