Description
Putting your skills to work:
- Induce anesthesia
- Monitor anesthesia before, during and after surgery
- Perform surgical prep
- Administer vaccines and other SQ, IM and IV injections
- Surgical assisting, setting up cats for surgery, assisting the surgeon
- Display flexibility to achieve optimal efficiency
- Respond to emergency situations such as cardiac and respiratory arrest
- Transferring feral cats from their cage to squeeze cage
- Assist with tame cat exams
- Recover patients, extubate, and monitor recovery
- Move cats between carriers and cage banks
- Prep cats for check out
- Give caregivers post-op instructions and check-out cats
- Surgical instrument cleaning and maintenance
- Equipment maintenance
- Accurate and efficient input of patient records and charges
Your talents and background:
- Veterinary Technician certified in Oregon
- 1+ years of clinical experience
- Experience working for a spay/neuter program a plus
- Self-directed and responsible team player
- Support the mission of the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon
- Current driver’s license and good driving record
- Able to lift 40 lbs and be on your feet for your shift
- Patience, tolerance and an ability to work with a varying range of volunteers in a fast-paced setting
