Main Responsibilities/Functions Operations:
• Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with transfer groups as well as holding them to the medical and temperament standards of the Center. • Analyze relevant statistics and provide summary report to management on a monthly basis (effect of breed availability, traffic flow, total available animals, day of week, surrender acceptance rate, etc. on adoption totals). • Assist members of the public in the admittance of their pet through proper interviewing techniques and complete all necessary data entry into animal database. • Evaluate and assist in behavior and medical assessment of new animals arriving at the center, including animals going into foster. • Take and upload photos of animals at time of admission. • Perform minor medical tasks such as vaccinations, microchipping and deworming. • Responsible for animal transports from municipal animal control agencies • Responsible for assisting wellness team with veterinarian transports. • Responsible for animal transports for in-store PetSmart store adoptions and selecting animals. • In collaboration with the Senior Operations Manager, select animals for offsite events, hiking buddy program and humane education activities. • Work positively with other members of the management team to accomplish department goals. • In collaboration with MSRPAC trainer create and implement behavior programs for center dogs including documentation. • Oversees and is responsible for monitoring play groups in age and temperament appropriate groups. • Implements enrichment program for center dogs and cats. • Responsible for updating all socialization boards. • Assists with promotion of long term residents, writes animal bios that are positive and creative. • Works with advanced volunteer animal handlers and other volunteers as assigned. • Adheres to MSRPAC’s disease management and safety precautions.
• Ensure proper procedures and guidelines for handling and managing all animal intake operations for surrendered and transferred animals. • Establish and maintain a customer friendly atmosphere at all times. • Monitor and maintain all public communications to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
• Maintains and publishes weekly, monthly and yearly shelter statistics • Monitor, review, interpret, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures. • Ensure thorough and accurate animal records. • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager and/or Executive Director • Exhibit the values and philosophy of the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center.
