Spay/Neuter

ASPCA Stationary Spay/Neuter Clinic

In November 2013 , the ASPCA took another progressive step toward ending pet homelessness in New York City with the opening of a second spay/neuter clinic dedicated primarily to animals managed by rescuers and humane organizations. The new clinic will increase capacity to provide subsidized spay/neuter services to at risk animals.

Both stationary spay/neuter facilities are outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment and staffed with highly trained medical and administrative personnel. High-quality spay/neuter services are provided to caretakers and rescuers of feral and adoptable cats and dogs. The fees for services are subsidized which results in very low costs. Animals can be brought directly to a clinic by a registered rescuer or use our transport program.  Appointments are required to use both facilities.

Standard treatment includes:

  • Spay/neuter
  • Rabies vaccine
  • Tattoo
  • Nail trim
  • Ear tip for feral cats

Additional services provided (at additional cost and upon request):

  • FVRCP vaccination for cats
  • DA2PP vaccination for dogs
  • E-collar
  • FIV/FELV testing
  • Microchipping
  • Treatment for fleas, ticks and ear mites

Requirements

The ASPCA is proud to have cultivated relationships with over 800 animal rescuers, groups and shelters in New York City. Animal rescuers are vital to the welfare of animals in New York City, and the ASPCA has tailored a program to accommodate the varying needs of rescuers and the animals they serve.

If you would like to become a registered rescuer with the ASPCA, please follow these steps:

1) File a Terms of Use Agreement with the ASPCA: Download our Terms of Use document (.pdf), and please return all pages of the agreement via one of the following:

  • E-mail: snc@aspca.org
  • Fax: 217-337-9810
  • Regular Mail: Client Services
1717 South Philo Road, Suite 36

2) Present TNR certification (if working with community cats in traps): TNR certification workshops are offered online or in any of the five boroughs. Becoming TNR-certified not only provides you with information on how to trap safely, but also community relations, colony feeding and sheltering, and other issues are covered. Upon completion of the workshop, you will receive TNR certification, which entitles you to use low-cost spay/neuter services with the ASPCA and other agencies in NYC. The ASPCA accepts TNR certification from the following agencies:

Once you are a registered rescuer with the ASPCA, you may make an appointment to bring eligible spay/neuter candidates directly to the Spay/Neuter Clinic or use our transport service by calling (877) SPAY-NYC (772-9692).
