The ASPCA, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the National Federation of Humane Societies (NFHS), and the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) all agree on this basic principle for our field, and hope you will join an effort to look for opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and cooperation, rather than diverting precious resources toward efforts only meant to destroy organizations and individuals. Review a collection of tools designed to help animal welfare organizations and the general public work together for positive, productive change in their communities, and avoid the kind of destructive tactics that ultimately harm animals and move us further from our shared goal of saving lives and ending euthanasia. A new Share the Love Grant Fund will fund costs associated with equine, animal sheltering, and sterilization programs. Grants will range from $500 to $10,000, and will be awarded in all 50 states. Animal shelters, animal control agencies, and non-sheltering animal welfare organizations may submit letters of inquiry November 7, 2011 – January 1, 2012. If invited to complete the full application, the application is due on January 17. Read our grant guidelines for more information and linstructions to submit your online letter of inquiry. P.S.
