Role Overview
We are seeking a curious and detail-oriented Data Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that guide product development, business strategy, and AI improvements.
In this role, you will analyze user behavior, evaluate AI performance, measure product impact, and provide insights that help leadership make data-driven decisions for a product serving over 1 million users.
Key Responsibilities
Product & User Analytics
- Analyze user behavior to understand engagement, retention, and feature adoption.
- Build and maintain product analytics including funnels, retention cohorts, and churn indicators.
- Conduct deep analysis on feature usage and workflow drop-offs.
- Segment users based on behavior, demographics, and engagement levels.
Experimentation & A/B Testing
- Design and analyze A/B tests and product experiments.
- Define experiment hypotheses, success metrics, and measurement frameworks.
- Interpret experiment results and provide actionable recommendations.
- Create reusable experiment analysis frameworks.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Build dashboards and automated reports for leadership and product teams.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Produce weekly reports and business performance analyses.
- Maintain a single source of truth for company metrics.
AI Performance Analytics
- Analyze AI system performance metrics such as response quality, latency, and accuracy.
- Track AI cost efficiency including token usage and LLM provider spending.
- Measure the impact of AI improvements on engagement and retention.
- Support AI teams with evaluation datasets and quality benchmarks.
Growth & Revenue Analytics
- Analyze acquisition funnels and marketing channel performance.
- Perform cohort analysis, churn analysis, and lifetime value modeling.
- Support pricing strategy and subscription conversion analysis.
- Evaluate growth experiments and onboarding improvements.
Data Quality & Collaboration
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across analyses.
- Document dashboards, metrics definitions, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and leadership teams.
- Continuously improve analytics processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 3+ years in data analysis, product analytics, or related roles.
- Experience building dashboards and running A/B tests.
- Strong SQL and analytical skills in fast-paced environments.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Startup or high-growth experience preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
A proven track record in analytics can substitute for formal education.
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL (joins, window functions, CTEs, subqueries).
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis.
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, or Mode.
- Knowledge of statistical methods including hypothesis testing, regression, and cohort analysis.
- Familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
Strategic & Soft Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Ability to present complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of business context for product, growth, and revenue metrics.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of analytics projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing AI or machine learning system performance.
- Product analytics experience in consumer SaaS platforms with 100K+ users.
- Familiarity with analytics engineering tools such as dbt.
- Experience with event tracking tools (Segment, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
- Experience with SaaS revenue analytics and subscription modeling.
- Experience in career-tech, edtech, or SaaS B2C products.
