Why Is Working In An Animal Shelter Like a Day At the Beach?

Dreaming about warm weather now that Spring is on its way? Here's a countdown that'll make you feel even closer to setting your feet in the sand...

10. Most of the time you desperately want to shower before heading home

9. No amount of fees or warnings seems to stop litterers

8. You always check the bottoms of your feet before getting into your car

7. A little Frisbee or catch might be your only break in the day

6. You always enter the stalls cautiously, usually holding your breath

5. You never have enough towels

4. Peak hours can turn your peaceful space into a public melee

3. At the end of the day you’re left staring at a wet mountain of laundry

2. The minute you settle in and relax, someone else’s little animals are all over you

And now, the #1 reason why working in an animal shelter is like a day at the beach…

1. You leave sticky, smelly, and more tired than you arrived, and you’re still glad you came!
