Tip of the Week: Shhhh…. Assessments in Progress!
Ringing phones, barking dogs, delivery trucks, clanging dishes — shelters can be noisy!
When conducting animal assessments, it’s vital that the area is quiet and free of distractions. A sound machine (sometimes called a sleep or white noise machine) can be effective in buffering noise outside your assessment room. They’re easy to find and moderately priced, so get several and put ’em to use throughout your shelter!
