  1. Stacy Strickland Says:

I’d love to have one of these for my own backyard! That is too cute for words.

  2. We use these in our outdoor dog play areas for the dogs to cool off in. We also use them for mama dogs and their puppies.

  3. -Food bowl for the kitten colony
    -Change dish for donations
    -Mints for the front counter
    -Hat for the volunteers
-New bed for the older cats (kidding on this one, but we all know cats will sleep anywhere).

I bet you could raise a wade of cash with these! Water your thoughts?

  5. Did you guys just dive right in or what? Great responses, all!

We first saw this pool on Charleston Animal Society’s Facebook page, along with this request: “Want to help out a new canine mother? Donate a plastic pool to give the new puppies a secure place to cuddle up with their mom. Any new or used hard plastic small baby pool would be perfect.”

I checked in with CAS’ Kay Hyman, director of marketing and public relations, to find out more about where and how they got this great idea. “Our shelter staff have used old baby pools for whelping boxes for years,” Kay told me. “They are perfect for shelter use because they are easily cleaned and give mom easy retreat for some R&R and keep the pups safe and dry. They have smooth edges, and as the pups grow they learn to jump out to go pee and jump back in to be with their siblings. And when we ask folks to donate them, what always helps us is to include a link to an online site where Facebook friends can just click, shop and save lives!”

  6. As a pool for our dogs and pups in our brand new all weather yard going in next month.
