  1. Auction! Also useful to help make your space feel “homey” to potential adopters.

  2. Christie Rogero Says:

A good way to raise funds and decorate a lobby at the same time: people whose beloved pets have died donate a set amount and provide a picture to make this a memorial quilt. Or, it could be a quilt made to showcase successful adoptions: people who have adopted from the shelter and want to give back donate a set amount and submit a photo of their dog in their new home.

  3. Raffle! Or hang it on the wall to make things pretty!

  4. We have a winner, folks! Congrats to Chris, our latest Wordless Wednesday warrior, for typing in the magic word. This beautiful piece was created by Montana artist Barbara Edwards, who is raffling off a quilt to benefit Rolling Dog Farm, a New Hampshire rescue for disabled animals, for the sixth year in a row!

Says Barbara, “I came up with this idea after our first visit with Rolling Dog’s proprietors, Steve and Alayne. I wanted to help them in some way and am way past the age when mucking out stalls holds any appeal! I make the quilt, handle ticket sales and do whatever else needs to be done. I pay for all costs so that 100% of the ticket sale revenue goes to the Farm.”

Why this method rocks? It’s no work for you, shelters, and that’s just….sew perfect.
