The ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program

The ASPCA Veterinary Scholarship Program supports veterinary and veterinary technician students committed to building careers in animal welfare. Through financial support and sustained ASPCA engagement, the program strengthens the veterinary workforce at shelters and mission-driven organizations, expands access to care, and cultivates a community of professionals dedicated to improving animal lives.
The program is for students who commit to working at least three years post-graduation in animal welfare, including: non-profit or municipal shelter medicine, community-centered medicine, high-quality high-volume spay-neuter programs, at-risk equine care, or pasture-based/humane agriculture.
Funding Amounts
- Veterinary programs: students are eligible to receive up to $33,333 per year, to a maximum of $100,000.
- Veterinary technician programs: students are eligible to receive up to $10,000 per year, to a maximum of $20,000.
Timeline
- Application opened: January 20, 2026
- Application closed: March 3, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT
- Notification of selection results: June 2026
- Funds disbursed to schools: August 2026
